PAS 68 / K12 Certified High-Security Bollards

 

The BGI B5000/B3120 bollards have been certified to meet the PAS 68 / K12 standard by stopping a 7.5 ton truck travelling at 80 km/hr. These bollards are suitable for locations where uncompromising security is required.

Anti-ramming automatic bollards

Operated hydraulically or pneumatically, the B5000 automatic bollards offers the highest standard of anti-ramming and security protection. Taking as little as 4 seconds to reach the fully raised position, these bollards can be used in the most demanding locations where the highest level of security is required.

Security

The B5000/B3120 bollards were tested at TRL, an authorized UK test centre, and meet the British Standards Institute PAS 68 standard for security bollards, stopping a 7.5 ton truck travelling at 80 km/hr within a few meters.  Typically combined with light arm barriers and gates, these bollards provide maximum deterrence and safety. With a hard-wearing finish, these bollards are used extensively to protect sensitive government and military locations as well as civilian compounds.

Mechanism

With a patent-pending mechanism for releasing the internal piston, the bollards can be maintained without disassembly and if necessary, the entire unit can be removed without the need for digging out the foundations. Special consideration has been given to drainage in the design to ensure that extreme conditions of ice, dust or water do not affect the operation of the bollard.

The bollards are powered by a self-contained electro-hydraulic mechanism offering unprecendented reliability, simplicity and autonomy. The bollards require an electrical feed only and the entire operation of the piston and hydraulic mechanism are encased in a closed unit.

A range of advanced safety features are available to ensure peace of mind and avoid unintended operation:

  • Inductive loop vehicle detectors installed in the road.
  • Photo-electric cells to further ensure that the bollards are not in motion while something is passing.
  • LED lights on the bollards and traffic lights by the road to indicate when it is safe/unsafe to pass or when the bollards are in motion.
  • Sirens to indicate that the bollards are in motion.
  • Speed bumps to slow down approaching traffic.
